2nd Annual Day Celebrations at SIEM - A Grand Success

The second Annual Day Celebration at Saraswati Institute of Engineering and Management was a grand success.
The chief guest of the event was the honorable Vice Chancellor of Gujarat Technological University, Dr. Akshai Aggrawal and Mrs. Aggrawal. The guest of honor of the event was Prof. M N Patel, the former Vice Chancellor of GTU.
It is a matter of previlege for the institute that the honorable VC and former VC have come down two times in the matter of last couple of months. It speaks volumes of the personal initiative taken by the 'captain' of the management team of SIEM i.e. Prof. Dr. K N Sheth, who, with grit and firm determination, has time and again organized a very high quality event - attracting top dignitaries and corporate people from all across India.
The event started with the inauguration by the honorable Vice Chancellor, followed by the Annual Report of SIEM delivered by the Director. The awards for best performances by the students in various categories viz. academic excellence, sports, culture, industrial interface were given away by the dignitaries.
The distinguished guests then unveiled the Placement Brochure of the MBA Batch 2009-11 and formally started the campus placement process at SIEM - although behind the scenes, two students had already received pre-placement offers.
They also formally launched the annual college magazine called "Anubhuti" which showcases the life at SIEM through the creativity of students and faculty members. The draft copy was launched and the final copy would be launched after a week to incorporate the outstanding performances of students at the Annual Day.
This was followed by a fabolous dinner and a grand cultural evening. The students made some outstanding performances in terms of singing, dance, fashion show and drama and lit up the entire atmosphere at Rajpur. The icing on the cake was the fashion show in which even the Director of the institute participated and which enthralled one and all. This shows that the leader leads from the front in all aspects at SIEM, be it academic, sports or culture.
The guests were very impressed by the milestones achieved by SIEM over the last two years and were hopeful that as per the vision of the Director, Dr. K N Sheth, the institute will become an outstanding role-model for technical education in the country. Everyone left in high spirits after the celebration finally ended in the wee hours of the next day!
